Michigan Head Coach Red Berenson
On tonight's game ... "It was a different game tonight. We knew that Lake State would come out harder and more focused than the way they finished the game last night. Our team didn't come out with as much fight and as a result we were on our heels for most of the first period. We gave up 15 shots and we were lucky the score was what it was [1-1]. And then we had to pick it up from there on in."
On goalie Bryan Hogan's play ... "Hogan had to be sharp, especially in the first period. They were all over us and had some glorious chances and not just perimeter shots. He was the difference in the game."
On the third period ... "You have a one-goal lead and you want to win the third period but you can't win at the expense of good team defense. I thought they had one good scoring chance in the third. Our team played better defense. We played hard. We played team hockey. That last shift was a great way to finish the game. You just don't let the other team pull their goalie and get the extra man on the ice."
U-M Sophomore Right Wing Kevin Lynch
On sweeping the weekend series ... "Last year we started off a little bit slow and we wanted to change that around this year. A couple of Friday night losses, we didn't want to make it another last year. I think this weekend is a stepping stone for the games to come."
On keeping the lead in the third period ... "Obviously you want to play more defensive. You don't want to have all three guys in the offensive zone. I think we played a little less aggressive in the third period so we could keep that lead."
U-M Senior Goalie Bryan Hogan
On his performance tonight ... "It's just another weekend. You can't get too high or low right now. You just have to keep going as long as you can because in one moment your spot can be taken away."
