Meram Invited to 2011 adidas MLS Player Combine

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Senior forward Justin Meram (Shelby Township, Mich./Eisenhower) of the University of Michigan men's soccer team earned an invitation to the 2011 adidas MLS Player Combine, held Jan. 8-12 at Central Broward Regional Park in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Meram becomes the seventh Michigan player to participate in the MLS pre-draft combine.
Meram has played and started in 22 games this season, tallying 40 points on 16 goals and a team-leading eight assists. Meram currently sits fifth all-time in points (60) and goals (23). Additionally, Meram's 40 points, 16 goals and 101 shots this season each rank second best in a single season all-time.
Meram is a two-time All-Big Ten second team selection and has earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week this season to go along with TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week and College Soccer News Player of the Week honors. He has led the Wolverines into their first-ever College Cup appearance and is on a eight-game scoring streak entering U-M's semifinal game against Akron on Friday (Dec. 10, 8 p.m. PST).
The combine includes nine players from the four teams competing in this coming weekend's College Cup: J.T. Murray (Louisville); Justin Meram (Michigan); Anthony Ampaipitakwong and Christopher Korb (Akron); and Eddie Ababio, Jalil Anibaba, Michael Farfan, Stephen McCarthy and Dustin McCarty (UNC).
The coaching and management staffs of all 16 MLS teams will be in attendance to scout talent at the 2010 adidas MLS Player Combine. The 2011 MLS SuperDraft will be held on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2010, in Baltimore, Md.
The 2011 adidas MLS Player Combine will separate all players into four teams and feature two games per day at Central Brower Regional Park. Each team will be led by an experienced Division I coach who will be assisted by an experienced soccer professional.
