Michigan Head Coach Red Berenson
On tonight's game ... "It was a game that went in different directions. I liked our first 10 minutes of the game. I thought we played well and we played hard. We didn't necessarily put our chances in. Then they took over the period. One mistake, [Steve] Kampfer turns it over and bang, the guy's all alone in front and he beats [Bryan] Hogan. The next one was the two-on-one when [Tristin] Llewellyn put it in our own net. He didn't try to do it, but it can happen. He's in good position and he reacted. That's a tough goal to give up. Then we got back in the game. I thought even though we were down 3-1 we got back in the game. We played hard, but it wasn't to be. We didn't earn the bounces, but the bounces definitely went against us. The puck bounced over [Chad] Langlais' stick on the third one. Their next goal was a power-play point shot that hit our stick, bounced over to their guy, who is wide open and then it's in our net. It's one of those nights. Hogan made some good saves to keep us close. We had our chances and we didn't capitalize on them. We've got some bouncing back to do, no question. We saw their best and they didn't see our best."
On limiting turnovers tomorrow ... "We have to keep the game simple. We don't want a defenseman trying to beat a guy one-on-one. But on the other hand, the forwards have to be open. They have to work harder to get open so our defense can make the easy play and not a play that can create a turnover. Steve Kampfer is one of our best defensemen and it's not often that he turns the puck over. It's one of those nights."

On tonight's game ... "The first 10 minutes I think we were playing excellent. Then you saw what happened in the second 10 minutes. We weren't paying attention to the turnovers and they're a great transition team and really stuck it to us in the second half. That was the game-changer I think."
On the attitude of the team when he scored in the second period ... "Once we scored I thought we were going to mount a comeback and things were going to turn around in our favor. And it sort of did. We had some good shifts, but good shifts aren't going to cut it. You saw what happened, they put another goal in and we're chasing the game. If you're chasing the game it's never going to work."
On the lack of chances in the final minutes ... "I thought we didn't get that many great chances at the end. We were kind of buzzing around the net but nothing too concrete. It was tough, it was frustrating."
