Series Notes
The Wolverines improve their series record against NMU to 32-18-5. In Ann Arbor, Michigan advances to 14-11-2 against the Wildcats.
In games decided by one goal against Northern Michigan, the Wolverines snap the deadlock and advance to 5-4.
Streaks and Peak
Carl Hagelin furthered his career-best point streak to nine games with an assist tonight. He has 2-8-10 totals during the run.
Luke Glendening stretched his career-best point streak to four games thanks to his goal tonight. In those four matchups, he holds a 1-3-4 line.
Individual Notables
Greg Pateryn was inaugurated into the goal club with the first of his career. The marker also proved to be the game-winner.
Glendening's tally was his sixth of the season, tying his single-season career high.
Louie Caporusso notched three assists tonight for his fourth career playmaker (three assists). The three points tied a season high; he had 1-2-3 totals against Notre Dame on Dec .11.
Though he was held off the scoresheet last night, Caporusso has 4-3-7 totals in the last five games.
Matt Rust tallied his 20th assist and 30th point of the season. Rust is second on the team in points, trailing linemate and classmate Carl Hagelin (13-23-36).
Freshmen Kevin Lynch (4-6-10) and Lee Moffie (3-7-10) both posted points tonight, and in doing so each registered his 10th point of the season. Moffie's helper and Lynch's lamp lighter leave them deadlocked at second for freshman points, trailing Chris Brown (12-12-24).
Special Teams
Michigan scored multiple power-play goals (2-for-6) for the 12th time this season. The Wolverines are 15-7-1 when scoring at least once on the man-advantage.
U-M posted its 17th perfect game on the penalty kill (4-for-4). U-M is 13-4-0 when it does not allow a power-play goal.
Team Notables
The Maize and Blue has scored three goals in a single period 12 times this season; U-M struck three times in the second period tonight. When accomplishing this feat U-M is 11-0-0. U-M scored three goals in a period twice in the same game at LSSU on Oct. 31.
Michigan registered back-to-back goals in the second period at 8:02 and 8:12, a mere 10 seconds apart. These are the fastest two goals scored for U-M this season.
When the Wolverines yield the first goal of the game, they improve to 3-12-1. U-M also registered its first win when trailing after the first period, and move to 1-10-1.
