Football Facebook Page Surpasses 150,000 Fans

The official University of Michigan football Facebook page surpassed 150,000 fans today, less than nine months into its existence. Thanks to the largest alumni base in the world and the best fans in college sports, U-M has been at the forefront of social media with nearly 200,000 fans following Wolverine sports across 19 official Twitter pages and nine Facebook accounts.
Fans from 20 countries, speaking over 15 languages follow Michigan football on Facebook. The majority reside in the state of Michigan, with large pockets of support in Chicago, Toledo, New York City, Atlanta, Seattle and Tampa. Michigan football's fans span the globe from the United Kingdom, to Germany, France, Italy, Australia, Japan and Chile.
Combined with Michigan's Facebook efforts, U-M's 19 official Twitter accounts serve all 25 varsity sports, delivering breaking news, compelling content and behind the scenes looks at Wolverine athletics.
