ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's gymnastics program earned a 3.4633 team GPA in the 2009-10 academic year, posting the 12th-highest team GPA of any women's gymnastics program in the nation according to National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches for Women (NACGC/W) data.
Five Wolverines were honored as NACGC/W Scholastic All-Americans for registering a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher in 2009-10.
Seniors Sarah Curtis (Reno, Nev./Reno), Kelsey Knutson (Ames, Iowa/Ames) and Jaclyn Kramer (West Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills), junior Kylee Botterman (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) and freshman Katie Zurales (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton Warrenville South) each earned NACGC/W Scholastic All-America honors for their work in the classroom. Knutson posted a perfect 4.0 GPA, becoming just one of 66 women's gymnasts in the country to achieve the feat.
The Scholastic All-America honor is the fourth for Kramer, the third for Knutson, the second for Curtis and the first for Botterman and Zurales. Curtis and Knutson previously received CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team honors for at-large sports.
