Michigan Football Facebook Page Hits 250,000 Likes

Ann Arbor, Mich. -- The official University of Michigan football Facebook fan page surpassed 250,000 "likes" this week, cementing it as the top college football fan page in the nation.
Michigan athletics continues to be at the vanguard of social media in college athletics with all 27 varsity sports represented on Facebook and Twitter reaching fans in over 20 countries and speaking more than 20 languages. The Michigan football fan page gained 50,000 fans in eight weeks thanks to the devotion of one of the greatest fan bases in sports.
Fans have enjoyed the popular Countdown to Kickoff video series and continue to share photos and art work on the Facebook fan page showing their support for the Maize and Blue. The majority of Michigan football's Facebook fans reside in the state of Michigan, with large pockets of support in Chicago, Toledo, New York City, Dallas, Kansas City and Cleveland. Michigan football's fans span the globe from the United Kingdom, Germany, Mexico, France, Italy, Australia, Japan and South Korea.
