• Michigan swept this week's CCHA series against Ferris State with a 5-2 victory on Thursday (Oct. 27) and a 4-0 win tonight (Oct. 28). It is the Wolverines' first series sweep in conference play and second overall this season.
• This was the 99th meeting between Michigan and Ferris State with the Wolverines holding a 67-28-4 advantage. The win is U-M's fifth straight over FSU, and the Wolverines are unbeaten in the last six matchups between the two teams.
• Michigan has won its last 19 games at Yost Ice Arena and 20 straight overall in Ann Arbor including the Big Chill at the Big House. It extends the school record for longest home winning streak. The Wolverines have won all six home games this season by a margin of at least three goals.
• The Wolverines donned their maize jerseys for the second time this season. U-M is 2-0-0 this season when wearing the alternate jerseys.
• The Maize and Blue potted three goals in the second period. It is the second time in this series and the seventh time this season that Michigan has scored three-plus goals in a single period.
• Michigan's penalty kill was perfect, not allowing Ferris State to score during seven power-play opportunities. The Wolverines improved their penalty kill percentage to 79.5 percent (31-of-39).
• Fifth-year senior goaltender Shawn Hunwick picked up his sixth career shutout with 24 saves. Hunwick's last shutout was on April 7, 2011, in the 2011 Frozen Four semifinals against North Dakota. It is the second time this season Michigan has held its opponent scoreless (Niagara, Oct. 4).
• Junior forward Chris Brown tallied both his third goal and sixth assist of the season in the second period. It is the 15th multiple-point game of his career. Brown extended his point streak to three games with five points (1g, 4a).
• Junior forward A.J. Treais recorded both his fifth goal and fourth assist of the season in the second period. It is the 11th multiple-point game of his career and fourth time this season that Treais has registered a goal and an assist in a game.
• Freshman forward Phil Di Giuseppe assisted on two second-period goals. It is the third multiple-point game of his career. Di Giuseppe has a two-game point streak with four points (2g, 2a).
• Freshman forward Alex Guptill notched his third goal of the season at 5:38 of the first period to open the scoring. Guptill has a two-game point streak with two points (1g, 1a).
• Freshman forward Travis Lynch potted his fourth goal of the season in the second period. Lynch has a two-game point streak with two points (2g, 0a).
• Sophomore defenseman Mac Bennett recorded his seventh assist of the season on Lynch's goal in the second period. Bennett extended his point streak to a career-best three games with three points (0g, 3a).
• Sophomore forward Derek DeBlois had his second assist of the season on Guptill's first-period goal. DeBlois is on a two-game point streak with two points (1g, 1a). It is the first point streak of his career.
• Senior forward David Wohlberg earned his seventh assist of the season on Lynch's goal in the second period. Wohlberg has a two-game point streak with three points (1g, 2a).
