
Dannemiller Earns Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week

PARK RIDGE, Ill. -- Freshman setter Lexi Dannemiller (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) of the University of Michigan volleyball team was named the Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week on Monday (Nov. 14) after helping the Wolverines to a 1-1 weekend, including a sweep of No. 16 Minnesota. Dannemiller shares the award, which she has won four times this season, with Penn State's Micha Hancock.
In Michigan's 3-0 sweep of No. 16 Minnesota on Sunday (Nov. 13), Dannemiller recorded her 11th double-double of the season with 32 assists and 10 digs to go with three kills and a service ace. The Wolverines hit .291 against the Gophers, including hitting into a season-low 3.0 blocks. In a 3-1 loss at Wisconsin on Friday (Nov. 11), the freshman recorded 59 assists and eight digs while leading U-M to a .302 attack percentage. For the weekend, she averaged 13.00 assists and 2.57 digs a set.
Dannemiller has a Big Ten-leading total of 1,207 assists on the season, which currently ranks 13th on the single-season list at Michigan. Her average of 11.72 is second in the Big Ten.
The Wolverines return to action this weekend, hosting Northwestern on Friday (Nov. 18) and Illinois on Saturday (Nov. 19) at Cliff Keen Arena. Both matches are slated for a 7 p.m. start.
