Series Notes
• U-M is 67-26-10 all-time against WMU, including a 40-11-2 mark at Yost Ice Arena. U-M has swept eight of the last 11 regular-season series with the Broncos.
• Michigan extended its overall winning streak over WMU to seven games.
• In 10 career games, Carl Hagelin has eight goals and eight assists against the Broncos. He had two goals and one assist tonight.
Team Notes
• Tonight the Wolverines honored the Class of 2011. In 163 total games, the seven-member group owns a 109-45-9 (.696) overall record. At Yost Ice Arena, these Wolverines have a mark of 57-12-4 (.808). They have won two CCHA Tournament titles (2008, 2010), one CCHA regular-season championship (2008) and three Great Lakes Invitational crowns (2007, 2008, 2010). They have qualified for three NCAA Tournaments and reached the 2008 Frozen Four.
• The Wolverines have won 11 consecutive games at Yost Ice Arena, equaling their 11-game win streak at Yost in 2003-04. Including "The Big Chill at the Big House," U-M has won 12 straight in Ann Arbor and has an overall record of 14-2-1 in 2010-11.
• Tonight's win clinches a top-two finish in the CCHA standings. The Wolverines are one point behind Notre Dame with only two games remaining next weekend.
• Prior to tonight's game, the Michigan Hockey Band played the Swedish and Canadian national anthems in honor of seniors Carl Hagelin, Louie Caporusso and Ben Winnett.
• The first-period power-play tally by David Wohlberg ended a drought of 22 straight power plays without a goal, dating back to the second period against Alaska on Jan. 22. The game-winning goal by Hagelin was also a power-play goal.
• Hagelin's game-winning overtime goal was the first overtime winner for the Wolverines since the 2007 Great Lakes Invitational championship game when Travis Turnbull scored to beat Michigan Tech 1-0 in double overtime.
• The overtime win ended a 14-game winless stretch in overtime -- U-M posted a 0-5-9 record over that span.
• Kevin Lynch scored the Wolverines' sixth shorthanded goal of the season, the most since the 2008-09 season.
• Michigan's defensemen tallied six points (1-5-6) tonight. Five of the six blueliners had a point; Jon Merrill had two assists.
Streaks and Peaks
• With two goals and one assist, Hagelin has registered seven points (2-5-7) in his current four-game point streak.
• Kevin Lynch has registered three goals and an assist over the last two games, after being held pointless in the previous 18 games.
• Chris Brown extended his point streak to four games (3-1-4) with an assist tonight.
• Mac Bennett has an assist in three straight games, the longest streak of his career.
Individual Notes
• David Wohlberg is now second on the team in goals with 12.
• With his goal tonight, Chad Langlais is now tied for 20th in all-time points among defensemen with Bob Heathcott (1950-52) and Brandon Rogers (2002-05).
• Hagelin registered his fourth three-point game of the season, matching his single-season high.
