Michigan Head Coach Red Berenson
On tonight's game ... "It came down to special teams. We took too many penalties and it killed us. Look how many power-play goals they had (two) and the last one was with seven seconds left.
"I liked our game. We know our power play is not prolific, but we had good chances on the power play. Lee Moffie is all alone in front of the net with the goalie. We had isolated good chances, but we didn't score. I liked our game. I liked our forechecking. I liked our intensity. I thought we played well. I liked the way we started the game and even through the second period when they gave us those penalties and we survived the second period. We just had a poor third period."
On A.J. Treais ... "A.J. had a really good game. He got lucky on the second goal; you're not going to score on that very often, but it's a goal. I thought he had a good game."
On Shawn Hunwick ... "Shawn Hunwick gave us a chance, absolutely. It was like a shooting gallery there for about five minutes."
U-M Sophomore Center A.J. Treais
On the loss ... "It was a good start. We got that first goal and weathered the storm a little bit. We just have to play a full 60 minutes and we can't give their players time. They have two or three of the best players in the country and you can't give that guy time and space or they're going to make plays and that's what they did."
On his two goals ... "The first one, it's my birthday today, so that one couldn't have come any easier. For the second one I was trying to use the [defenseman] as a screen and I just let it go. I think offensively it was one of my better games at Michigan but not completely my best."
