Michigan Head Coach Red Berenson
On tonight's loss ... "I think it was a closer game than the score. The puck wasn't going in for us. They got two five-on-five goals and one five-on-three goal. They're a good team. They're playing at home and they're playing desperate. We didn't play well enough to overcome that especially when we get down by two goals."
On being shut out ... "We survived the second period with all of the penalty killing and then we're facing a three-goal deficit and trying to come from behind. We couldn't get the first goal. We had a couple of good chances; [David] Wohlberg had a great chance. We didn't get as many good chances, but we needed one to get going and we didn't get it."
U-M Senior Left Wing Carl Hagelin
On facing a 2-0 deficit after the first period ... "I didn't think we played that badly in the first period. They got two lucky bounces for their goals. There was a bad change on their second goal and on the first goal they missed the net and the guy found it and wrapped it around. It's tough to say. If we would have gotten the third goal of the game it's probably a different story. They found a way to get a lot of power plays. We got a lot of power plays in the last four minutes, but we didn't capitalize on them."
On what's needed moving on to host Ohio State ... "Be positive, but we need to be more humble. We have to make sure that everyone is doing the right thing in practice -- defense first. I do think we focused a bit more on defense this weekend than, for example, Alaska. But then we found a way to score in those games (vs. Alaska). Make sure on all the small things and all the details to play simple hockey. That's what we do when we play our best. Everyone has to chip in."
