Michigan Head Coach Red Berenson
On tonight's game ... "I thought our team played well, particularly in the first period after we didn't play for two weeks. I thought we moved the puck pretty well on the power play. We got the goals we needed. I thought their goalie played well and he gave them a chance. We got the important goals and didn't give up much. For the first playoff game it was a good start."
On David Wohlberg ... "It looks like Wohlberg is out and not just for a game but probably the season. We'll get the official prognosis tomorrow but that's what it looks like right now."
U-M Senior Forward Carl Hagelin
On tonight's win ... "I think we were all just really excited to play. We had two really good weeks at practice, probably the best we had all year. We came out and just wanted to play hard and make sure we shut them down and scored on our chances."
On playing defensive hockey ... "Any game you should be able to play well defensively. We have a goalie to make sure we're not going to give up more than one or two goals. Even if you have a bad day you should be able to block shots and not give them anything. Today we played well defensively as well as offensively. Tomorrow's going to be a different game and they're going to come out harder and try to get that first goal and sit on that lead. It's important for us to get the first goal tomorrow just like today."
U-M Senior Forward Scooter Vaughan
On tonight's win ... "Michigan is a playoff team and this is playoff hockey. We showed up today ready to play."
On supporting the defense ... "Just like coach says, we have to play strong, defensive hockey. We have to block shots and be strong in the defensive zone supporting our defense. I think we did that. That's how we're going to win games. Whether it's a one-goal or two-goal game we're going to have to shut them down."
