COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Several members of the No. 9-ranked University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team made one last push at securing NCAA standards at the Ohio State Last Ditch NCAA Meet on Sunday (March 6) at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.

This was the last weekend in which NCAA Division I swimmers could earn qualifying marks to the 2011 NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships, which run from March 24-26 in Minneapolis, Minn. The official psych sheet for the NCAA Championships will be released this Wednesday (March 9) and can be found at www.usaswimming.org/ncaa.

The Wolverines collected NCAA consideration times in five events, four individually and the 200-yard freestyle relay.

Michigan made big gains in the butterfly events. Freshman John Wojciechowski (Scottsdale, Ariz./Phoenix Brophy Prep) bettered his career top time in the 100-yard butterfly (47.50) by more than a quarter-second and senior Tony Wahl (Detroit, Mich./Detroit Jesuit) improved upon his personal best in the 200-yard butterfly (1:45.49).

Freshman Connor Jaeger (Rumson, N.J./Rumson-Fair Haven) picked up time in the 200-yard freestyle prelims (1:37.59) and classmate Kyle Duckitt (Johannesburg, South Africa/St. John's College) posted a personal best in the 100-yard breaststroke (55.49).

Michigan's divers will attempt to punch their ticket to the NCAA Championships at the NCAA Zone C Diving Regionals, held from March 11-13 in Columbus.
