In a rare event, Michigan fielded a team in the 4x120-yard shuttle hurdles relay, featuring Nick McCampbell, Erick Gavin, Frank Shotwell and Herman Washington. The quartet took third (57.75).
McCampbell also ran in the preliminaries of the 110-meter hurdles, finishing 25th (14.76).
The 4x400-meter relay team of Nick Neuman, David St. Amant, Ali Arastu and Matthew Campbell finished 15th in the preliminaries (3:12.75).
Robert Peddlar finished 18th in the long jump (6.99m/22-11 1/4 ft.)
The distance medley relay team of Brendon Blacklaws, Aaron Taylor, Nick Thomas and Dallas Bowden took third (9:53.64).
Michigan did not have a team run the 4x100-meter relay.
Michigan will compete in the triple jump, hammer throw, and the 4xMile relay. There is also a chance the 4x400-meter relay team will have a fast enough time to qualify for the finals.
