ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's basketball team will participate in the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam at University of the Virgin Islands, Nov. 24-26. The Wolverines are making their first appearance at the Paradise Jam, which is in its 12th year.
U-M will be joined by Prairie View A&M, Marquette and Washington State at the three-day event, taking on all three opponents in round-robin action. The Paradise Jam Reef Division is a Multiple Team Event (MTE) tournament that counts as only two games against a team's annual maximum of 29 games, despite playing three games at the tournament.
Michigan will begin competition on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, taking on Prairie View A&M at 6:45 p.m. U-M will then square off against Washington State on Nov. 25 at 9 p.m. before concluding action at the tournament against Marquette on Nov. 26 at 9 p.m. All game times are listed as Atlantic Standard Time, which is one hour ahead of Eastern Standard Time. Games will be played at the U.V.I. Sports and Fitness Center, the Caribbean's premier basketball facility located in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas.
The remainder of Michigan's 2011-12 schedule will be released at a later date.
