• Michigan improved its all-time record against NMU to 36-18-5, including a 15-11-12 mark at Yost. The Wolverines improved their record to 12-2-2 in the last 16 games overall, dating back to Dec. 3 at Alaska.
• Despite the win, U-M remains in third place in the CCHA standings due to wins by Ferris State and Western Michigan. With three regular-season games remaining, Michigan trails first-place FSU by six points and second-place WMU by one point.
• Forward A.J. Treais extended his career-long point streak to six games with two assists in tonight's win. Treais has earned nine points (6g, 3a) during his current streak.
• Rookie forward Phil Di Giuseppe found the back of the net for the ninth time this season and the first since Dec. 2 at Alaska. Di Giuseppe now has points in three straight games (1g, 2a)
• Defenseman Lee Moffie set a new career high for points in consecutive games with two (1g, 1a) tonight. Moffie has posted eight points (3g, 4a) during his five-game streak. Moffie leads the Wolverines with 21 assists.
• Michigan's Hobey Baker Award nominee, goaltender Shawn Hunwick, turned aside 26-of-27 shots for his 19th win of the season. Hunwick has a 12-2-1 record, with three shutouts, in 15 games since Dec. 3.
• U-M's penalty kill was perfect, shutting out Northern Michigan on all six power-play opportunities. The Wolverines have now killed 44-of-48 opportunities over the past 12 games, good for a 91.7-percent clip.
• Michigan scored first for the sixth straight game.
