ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Former University of Michigan women's basketball post player Stephanie Gandy (2001-04) recently joined Great Britain's roster with an opportunity in hand to make the national team for the upcoming 2012 Olympic Games in London.
Gandy was invited to training camp in April, making both cuts to stay on the 18- and 16-player rosters. As of May 26, she is listed on the 14-player list. Great Britain will make the final cut to 12 players on June 22.
The team will play seven games before the final team is announced, with test matches against Canada twice (June 9-10), Korea (June 15), Argentina (June 16), Turkey (June 17), and back-to-back games against the Czech Republic (June 19-20).
