• Michigan extended its win streak to 22 games, the longest active streak in the nation.
• The Maize and Blue tied its fourth-longest unbeaten streak in program history at 22 games (1993).
• U-M collected 10-plus hits (11) for the 24th time in 47 games.
• The Wolverines have hit seven grand slams this season. That is tied for the third most in a U-M season (2002).
• Ashley Lane hit her first grand slam of the season and fifth of her career.
• Lane moved into sole possession of fourth place on U-M's all-time home run list (43).
• Lane set a new career and season high with six RBI (previous vs. four, eight times).
• Lane hit two home runs for the second time this season (previous: at Michigan State on April 14) and the fourth time in her career.
• Romero hit her 20th and 21st home runs of the season. She tied a U-M single-season record shared by three other players (Samantha Findlay in 2005 and 2008, Jessica Merchant in 2005 and Dorian Shaw in 2010). She has four two-homer games this year (last: at Penn State on March 30).
• Romero is one of just four U-M players to reach the 20-homer plateau in Michigan softball history: Samantha Findlay hit 21 in 2005 and 2008, Jessica Merchant (21) in 2005, Dorian Shaw (21) and Maggie Viefhaus (20) in 2010.
• Romero tied a career and season high with five RBI.
• Amy Knapp was a late scratch. Kelsey Susalla made her first career start at third base.
• Lyndsay Doyle batted leadoff for the first time since April 7 vs. Ohio State (eight games).
• Caitlin Blanchard's hit streak was snapped at 18 games. She walked twice, extending her reached-base streak to 19 games.
• Michigan had back-to-back shutouts for the third time this season (previous: 9-0 vs. Purdue on March 29 and 9-1 vs. Bowling Green on March 27).
• U-M is now 48-30 all-time against Central Michigan.
