Michigan improves to 12-3-2 all-time vs. Oakland. The Wolverines are 6-0-1 in their last six meetings with the Golden Grizzlies.
Nicky Waldeck, Madisson Lewis, Anna Soccorsi and Cassie Collins each recorded their first collegiate goals in Sunday's contest.
The Wolverines last scored six goals in a contest on Aug. 26, 2011, vs. Duquesne (W, 6-0).
Nkem Ezurike, Nicky Waldeck and Madisson Lewis each had four points (1 G, 2 A) against Oakland. Corinne Harris had two assists.
Twelve of Michigan's 18 shots were on goal on Sunday.
The Wolverines are now 11-0-1 over the last 12 games against non-conference opponents at U-M Soccer Stadium (including postseason). Their last loss was the 2011 home opener against Akron (1-0 loss).
Through two games, six different players have combined to score Michigan's nine goals.
Prior to this season, the most number of goals Michigan scored in an opening weekend (two matches) was seven (1997). It scored nine this weekend.
Michigan used 24 players against Oakland. Jessica Heifetz and Melissa Kreutz made their collegiate debuts.
With her second-half goal, Nkem Ezurike is now eight goals away from the all-time scoring record. She has 37 career goals. The leader is Kacy Beitel (44, 1997-2000).
