The Wolverines scored the second set's first three points and a Lambert kill put U-M up 5-2. Back-to-back Iowa attack errors gave Michigan a 15-11 lead, but the Hawkeyes battled back, eventually tying the set at 17. Kieffer-Wright and Goode combined on a block to make it 19-17. Kieffer-Wright's termination put Michigan up 21-17. It was 23-21 after a Knop kill and Michigan had set point at 24-22 on Knop's successful swing. Iowa answered with two straight points and actually had set point at 27-26. Michigan came through with the final three points on a Lambert kill and service ace and a Hawkeye attack error.
The Maize and Blue hit .452 in the final set to preserve the sweep. Tied at 10, Michigan scored six of the next eight points as Goode's kill gave U-M the 16-12 lead. It was 19-13 on a combined block from Kieffer-Wright and Lambert and 21-15 on Goode's kill from a Dannemiller set. Michigan had match point at 24-18 after Lambert's termination and ended the match on Knop's kill.
