ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Michigan Stadium continues a long-standing tradition this weekend by hosting a Slippery Rock game for the third time. Slippery Rock will take on Mercyhurst on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 1 p.m.

Slippery Rock brings a 5-1 record into the matchup with 2-4 Mercyhurst. The conference foes have met six times previously and rotated wins for a 3-3 all-time series record. Last year, Slippery Rock defeated the Lakers, 58-34.
Students from all three schools receive free admission to the game by showing their student ID. General admission tickets are $20, and groups of 10 or more can receive general admission tickets for $5 each. A family pack that includes four general admission tickets, four hot dogs and four drinks is $50. Tickets can be purchased online at MGoBlue.com/tickets or at Michigan Stadium beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Parking is available in the lots around Michigan Stadium for $10 per car, Ann Arbor Golf & Outing for $20 and Pioneer High School for $20. RV parking at Pioneer is $50. Parking will not be available at the University of Michigan Golf Course.
Slippery Rock has unveiled special commemorative uniforms for the game, wearing all gray instead of the traditional home green tops and white pants. The uniform features a Big House Battle patch on the chest. The team also will wear specially designed gray and green striped undershirts in honor of the university's 125th anniversary.
"We wanted to find a unique way to show appreciation for our gracious hosts at the University of Michigan," Slippery Rock head coach George Mihalik said. "We thought that in order to respect the Wolverines' great rivalry with Michigan State, we wouldn't wear our traditional home green uniforms in the Big House."
Michigan has announced the Slippery Rock score at football games for decades, and on Sept. 29, 1979, Slippery Rock traveled to Michigan Stadium to play Shippensburg in front of 61,143 fans, which is still the NCAA Division II attendance record. In its most recent trip to Ann Arbor, Slippery Rock played Wayne State on Sept. 12, 1981.
Saturday also includes a Big House Band Invitational featuring the Michigan Marching Band and select high school bands. The bands will perform during the game, and then the high school bands will perform their marching band show beginning at 6 p.m. in Michigan Stadium. Admission to the band shows is free.
