Michigan used the starting lineup of Nicole Elmblad, Cyesha Goree, Siera Thompson, Shannon Smith and Madison Ristovski for the third straight game. The unit is 3-0.
Siera Thompson tied a career high with 25 points and five three-pointers. Both were set at Northwestern on Feb. 17, 2014. It was the 13th game of her career with at least three three-pointers.
Katelynn Flaherty scored a career-best 23 points, the first 20-point game of her career.
Katelynn Flaherty and Siera Thompson recorded Michigan's first 20-point games this season. They are the first teammates to each score at least 20 points since Jenny Ryan and Kate Thompson did it against Michigan State on Feb. 16, 2013.
Cyesha Goree had her double-digit scoring streak snapped. She finished with seven points.
Michigan made a season-high 12 three-pointers. The 12 three-pointers made is the fifth-best total in U-M history. It is the most three-pointers U-M has made since going for 13 on Feb. 16, 2011.
U-M is now 1-0 against San Diego State. The Aztecs are Michigan's only first-time opponent this season.
