The Michigan Line-Up
Michigan will have five starters and one individual competing at the Mary Fossum Invitational. Starting for U-M will include senior Lauren Grogan, sophomore Grace Choi, sophomore Julia Montgomery, freshman Kathy Lim and freshman Emily White. Junior Catherine Peters will travel as U-M's individual.
WOLVERINE BITES
Michigan will play in nine regular-season events this season, including hosting the East & West Match Play Challenge in mid-September at U-M's Radrick Farms Golf Course.
After a year away, Michigan returns to the Mary Fossum Invitational to its 2014 fall season. The last time U-M played was in 2012, when the Wolverines closed 10th with a 933 total. Lauren Grogan has played in two of MSU's opening fall event -- tying for 42nd in 2011 (240) and tying for 54th (238) in 2012.
Michigan will have only one senior on its 2014-15 roster. Lauren Grogan, who has started 29 of 30 career events, will be the elder stateswomen of the squad. The rest of the Wolverine roster features one junior, two sophomores and three freshmen.
Grace Choi returns for the Maize and Blue after a successful freshman campaign. She started all 10 events and led the team in scoring averaging with a 75.64 per-round mark, which set the U-M freshman single-season record and ranked fifth all-time in a season. She was the top Wolverine in five of 10 events.
This summer, Grace Choi was given an exemption to compete in the LPGA's Meijer Classic at Blythefield Country Club. Despite not making the cut, Choi enjoyed the professional playing experience -- competing in the event's Pro-Am, a children's clinic and the LPGA Tour event. [ Full Coverage ]
Michigan welcomes just four newcomers to the roster -- Megan Kim, Kathy Lim, Emily White and Julia Montgomery. Kim comes to U-M from Mira Cost High School in Redondo Beach, Calif., while Lim hails from R.E. Mountain Secondary in Langley, British Columbia. White played locally at Saline High School, and Montgomery comes to Ann Arbor after one season with Oakland University, where she started four fall tournaments before transferring.
