For the sixth straight game, U-M used the starting lineup of Cyesha Goree, Danielle Williams, Shannon Smith, Nicole Elmblad and Siera Thompson.
Siera Thompson made four three-pointers, the 17th game of her career with at least three three-pointers. She has made at least one three-pointer in 47 of her 49 career games.
Rutgers leads the all-time series with Michigan, 2-0.
Siera Thompson made two free throws in tonight's game, extending her streak to 32 straight made free throws.
Cyesha Goree recorded her second 20-point game of the season and seventh of her career, finishing with 23 points.
Michigan outrebounded Rutgers, 34-33. It was the ninth time this season Michigan has outrebounded its opponent. U-M is 7-2 in those games.
The Wolverines committed just six second-half turnovers after 15 in the first half.
Madison Ristovski had her two-game scoreless streak snapped, scoring five points with three rebounds and two assists in 11 minutes.
Shannon Smith had a season-high nine assists.
Michigan is now 5-2 all-time vs. the No. 24 team in the AP poll.
