Michigan now owns a 68-54-8 record all-time against Wisconsin and is unbeaten in its last six games against the Badgers (5-0-1), the Wolverines' longest unbeaten streak in the series since a 10 game run (9-0-1) from Nov. 25, 1994 to Nov. 29, 2002. Michigan is unbeaten (5-0-1) in its last five games at home against the Badgers dating back to 2005.
Michigan earned its first regular season Big Ten sweep (4-0-0) against any opponent in school history, finishing the season unbeaten against Wisconsin.
The Wolverines improved to 12-2-0 at Yost Ice Arena this season and have won nine straight home games, their longest home winning streak in a single season since a 14-game winning streak during the 2010-11 season.
Michigan has topped the five goal mark 12 times this season and is 12-0-0 when scoring five or more goals. The last time the Wolverines topped five goals at least 12 times in a single season was in 2009-10 (15).
JT Compher recorded his first career hat trick and the third hat trick by a Michigan player this season, including Justin Selman's three goals at Wisconsin (Jan. 23), and Zach Hyman's hat trick at UMass-Lowell (Oct. 24, 2014). Compher had four goals in two games this past weekend.
Steve Racine made 26 saves to earn the win in net. Racine has made the last five starts in net for Michigan, and is 3-2-0 with a 1.82 GAA and .937 Save% in that span.
Justin Selman recorded his second career multiple-goal game with two goals tonight, and now has 17 points (9G, 8A) in his last 12 games.
Zach Hyman had two assists for his team-leading 15th multiple point game of the season. He leads the Big Ten with 47 points (19G, 28A). His current scoring pace (1.57 points/game, No. 2 in the nation) exceeds Kevin Porter's (1.47 points/game) during his Hobey Baker Award winning campaign in 2007-08. Hyman entered this season with 35 points (13G, 22A) in his first three seasons combined.
Hyman needs three points to become the first Michigan player to top 50 points in a single season since Carl Hagelin who had 50 points (19G, 31A) in 2009-10.
Michigan was a perfect 2-for-2 on the penalty kill against the Badgers, marking the eighth time in the last nine games (25-for-26, 96.2%) and fifth game in the row that the Wolverines have not allowed a power-play goal. Michigan's penalty kill is now 83-for-100 (83.0%) overall on the season.
Michigan scored two or more power play goals for the ninth time this season, and is now 8-1-0 on the season when scoring multiple goals on the man advantage.
Both Dylan Larkin (assist tonight) and Zach Hyman have points in four straight games. Hyman has had four point streaks of three games or more this season and for Larkin it's his third point streak of three games or more.
