COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Nine members of the No. 17-ranked University of Michigan women's swimming and diving team were in action on Sunday (March 1) at the OSU Last Chance Meet in Columbus, as they tried to get faster times above the selection cutline for the NCAA Championships. The NCAA will announce its selections for the Championships, held March 19-21 in Greensboro, North Carolina, later this week.
Of the nine swimmers, three picked up NCAA 'B' times -- junior Marni Oldershaw in the 200-yard IM (1:58.43), senior Claudia Lau in the 100-yard backstroke (54.99) and freshman Samantha Yeo in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:15.14).
Sophomore Madison Horton lowered her season-best times in both the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.41) and 100-yard freestyle (53.41), while junior Marie Georger clipped time in the 200-yard butterfly (2:02.33). The other swimmers in action on Sunday were junior Sharalynn Missiuna, senior Kayla Douglas, sophomore Celia Keany and freshman Carolyn McCann.
The NCAA will release its championships entry list on Monday (March 2), and psych sheets, eligible relays and alternates list on Wednesday (March 4).
