Michigan finishes the regular season with a 20-14-0 record, including a 12-8-0-0 mark in Big Ten play. The Wolverines were 12-3-0 at Yost Ice Arena in 2014-15, and tonight's loss snapped a nine-game home winning streak dating back to a Nov. 21 loss to Penn State (L, 2-3,), Michigan's first Big Ten contest of the season.
Michigan honored its six-member senior class in a ceremony after the game, a class that includes Mike Chiasson, Luke Dwyer, Zach Hyman, Travis Lynch, Brennan Serville, and Andrew Sinelli. The class has compiled an outstanding record against Michigan's chief rivals, with a 23-9-2 mark against Michigan State and Ohio State combined.
Zach Werenski's goal gives Michigan defensemen 22 goals in 34 games this season. In 2013-14, Michigan defensemen scored eight goals in 35 games. Werenski leads all Big Ten defensemen with nine goals on the season.
Dylan Larkin (assist tonight) leads all Big Ten freshmen with 43 points (14G, 29A) on the season. He is the first Michigan freshman to reach 40 points in a single season since Aaron Palushaj had 44 points (10G, 34A) in 2007-08.
Justin Selman (assist tonight) has 20 points (10G, 10A) in his last 13 games and 21 points overall on the season. Selman had 13 points (5G, 8A) in his first two years combined at Michigan.
