Michigan Head Coach Erik Bakich
Opening statement ... "I thought that today was maybe not the prettiest, but it was one of the grittiest -- big pitches in big spots and taking advantage of some errors -- it was just a good team win and I thought our guys really grinded one out today and I give credit to the team for getting it done."
On facing Maryland tomorrow ... "I will always pull for those guys and I will always cheer for those guys and always support those guys. I want them to do well except for when we play them. I'm always going to be a fan of Maryland, especially of the guys that I had the chance to either coach or recruit. Coach Szefc and I are friends as well, but you have to put that aside when it's time to compete. Of course I want all those kids to do well, but when it comes time to play a game, the opponent is nameless and faceless and that is how it will be tomorrow."
U-M Junior Jacob Cronenworth
On how fun this game was ... "It was awesome. I was actually thinking about this when I was about to go in and pitch -- I was thinking that this is probably one of the most fun games I've ever played. Getting to pitch, getting to play first, getting to play second and hitting all over the place ... plus Evan coming out with a gritty start and just getting everybody pumped up in the dugout after he came out, you know it was probably one of the better team wins we've had as well."
On losing the lead and coming back for the win in the end ... "I think this is the first time we've done that all year. We were late in the game, 7th inning - we go down, then we're up and then they kind of throw a dagger at us again. It was tough, but as a team, we came together and we just stayed motivated with the fact that we could win this whole thing."
U-M Junior Evan Hill
On getting through the intense first couple innings ... "I didn't have my best stuff but I was just trying to pour it in and throw strikes. I had good defense behind me and I trust my teammates. We've been playing really good defense the whole tournament, so I just trusted that so long as I pour it in and throw strikes that we would make plays."
