
Bivens Earns Freshman All-America Honors from D1Baseball.com

OMAHA, Neb. -- University of Michigan baseball freshmen Jake Bivens has been selected a Freshman All-America first team at shortstop by D1Baseball.com, the website announced Monday morning (June 29).
Bivens, a Battle Creek, Michigan, native that was Michigan's first Freshman of the Year honoree since 1996, hit .319 with 68 hits, 43 runs scored, nine stolen bases and a .435 on-base percentage that is sixth in the Big Ten. Bivens has a 14-game hitting streak going into the conference tournament, and he had a 25-game reached-base streak earlier in the year. The two-time Big Ten Freshman of the Week had 17 multi-hit games and was a perfect 5-for-5 in a win over Northwestern on May 10. Bivens had an RBI double in the 4-3 win over Bradley in the NCAA Louisville Regional.
Bivens has been selected a First Team Freshman All-American by Baseball America and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association as well as being named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American in 2015.
Michigan (39-25) capped off a season that saw the Maize and Blue win its ninth Big Ten Tournament title and advance to the championship game of the NCAA Louisville Regional.
