Michigan Women's Soccer Meet the Freshmen: Jackie White

Jackie White is a midfielder from Livonia, Michigan, attended Divine Child High School, where she was a team captain as a junior and senior (2014-15) and played for Vadar ECNL (2012-15) alongside fellow Michigan freshman Kelly Sweeney.
White led Diving Child to four straight district title games (2012-15) earned All-District honors each of those four years (2012-15). She was also selected to the All-State, All-Region and All-Catholic teams as a sophomore, junior and senior. As a senior she led Divine Child in goals and assists (2015).
She represented Michigan at the OPD National Championship in 2013.
In addition to soccer, White also ran four years of cross country for Divine Child. Academically, White was an Honor Roll student and graduated Summa Cum Laude.

"Jackie White is an outstanding holding midfielder. She has fantastic possession skills and rarely makes a mistake on the ball. Jackie is demonstrating the potential to get minutes on the field this fall."
On why she chose the University of Michigan ... "Growing up not that far from Ann Arbor I would come to games when I was younger. Watching the girls play, I always knew that I wanted to go here."
On how her Michigan experience has been so far ... "So far I really like it here. I love the team -- they're so close and it's cool to see a group of girls who are that close. I can't wait for the rest of the season."
On how her teammates and coaches have helped you become acclimated to college ... "All the girls are super nice and supportive; if you need anything or need to know where anything is they'll tell you and help you out. The coaches are really helpful too; they ask you how you're doing and you know that you can go to them if you need anything."
On her strengths on the field ... "I think one of my strengths is possession -- keeping the ball and moving the ball."
On what she's looking forward to this season ... "Playing at our home stadium and having my parents and family come see me play."
On an interesting fact about her that no one knows ... "I really like to snowboard in the winter."
