PRINCETON, N.J. -- Freshmen Gabe Tishman and Myles Schalet each made his debut for the University of Michigan men's tennis team this weekend (Fri-Sun., Sept. 18-20), competing at the three-day Ivy Plus Tournament at the Lenz Tennis Center.
Tishman went 3-1 in singles action over the weekend, ending on a two-match winning streak in consolation action. Schalet went 2-2 in singles, winning his first two matches as a Wolverine.
The pair played just one doubles match, dropping a first-round contest to the Virginia Tech pair of Jason Kros and George Cartledge.
The Maize and Blue does not return to action until next month's ITA Midwest Regional Championships, set for Oct. 22-26 at Notre Dame.
