ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's soccer team fell to the Ohio State Buckeyes in double-overtime by a 1-0 score line Friday (Oct. 21) at U-M Soccer Stadium.
The Wolverines outshot the Buckeyes on the match by a 18-17 margin on the night. Sophomore Francis Atuahene, who was the focal point of the Buckeye defensive unit, and senior Rylee Woods were responsible for the pair of shots on goal for the Wolverines.
Additionally, freshman Jack Hallahan and sophomore Ivo Cerda had three shots for the Maize and Blue, with the majority being of the dangerous variety.
U-M had the better run of play the majority of regulation, a trend that continued in the first and second overtime session. However, a goal for Ohio State from Nate Kohl with only 23 seconds left in the second extra session proved to be the difference, lifting the Buckeyes to the 1-0 victory.
The Wolverines next take on the Oakland Grizzlies in their final non-conference matchup of the season Tuesday (Oct. 25) at 7:30 p.m. from U-M Soccer Stadium.
