The University of Michigan women's soccer team (10-4-3, 6-3-2 Big Ten) won its regular-season finale Wednesday (Oct. 26) to finish fourth in the Big Ten standings and earn the right to host fifth seed Wisconsin (8-4-7, 5-2-4 Big Ten) in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals on Sunday (Oct. 30) at 4 p.m. at U-M Soccer Stadium.
Tickets for that match are now available and can be purchased by visiting the women's soccer ticket page. Prices are the same as regular-season games ($8 reserved chairbacks / $6 general admission / $3 groups - minimum purchase of 10).

BCBSM Postgame Penalty Kicks -- Following the conclusion of the game, all children in eighth grade and under are invited out onto the field for their chance at scoring a goal courtesy of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. The first 100 children to participate will receive a mini Michigan soccer ball.
WOLVERINE BITES
The Big Ten Tournament, which features eight teams, will begin with the quarterfinals on Sunday (Oct. 30) and will be hosted by the higher seeds in the four quarterfinal matches. The semifinals (Nov. 4) and final (Nov. 6) will be hosted by the top seed of the remaining four teams. If Michigan advances to the Big Ten semifinals, it will play the winner of the No. 1 Minnesota vs. No. 8 Indiana match on Friday, Nov. 4, at 3 or 5:30 p.m. The two semifinal games and the championship match will be live on the Big Ten Network.
Michigan defeated Indiana in dramatic fashion in the regular-season finale on Wednesday (Oct. 26) to secure sole possession of fourth place in the Big Ten standings and earn the right to host a Big Ten Tournament quarterfinal match. The Wolverines were down, 2-1, with less than 10 minutes remaining, when senior Nicky Waldeck (84') and senior/junior Ani Sarkisian (88') scored goals in the final six minutes to give Michigan the 3-2 win. Sophomore Reilly Martin recorded U-M's goal in the first half to make it a tied game at the half.
The Wolverines are making their 18th appearance in the Big Ten Tournament and fifth straight (Note: the tournament was not held in 2009 or 2010). Michigan is 18-14-3 all-time in the Big Ten Tournament and has made the championship match five times, winning twice (1997, 1999). Last season, Michigan defeated Northwestern, 1-0, before falling at Penn State, 1-0, advancing to the tournament semifinals for the first time since 2012.
Sunday's match will mark the eighth meeting between Michigan and Wisconsin in Big Ten Tournament play. U-M holds a 4-3 edge in games played against the Badgers in the conference tournament. U-M and Wisconsin last went head to head in the Big Ten Tournament in the 2012 quarterfinals, when the Wolverines defeated the Badgers, 2-0, in Bloomington, Indiana.
Michigan and Wisconsin played in Ann Arbor during the regular season, with the game ending in a 1-1 draw. The Wolverines were without starting center back senior Anna Soccorsi for that match due to injury, but she has since returned to the starting lineup.
Michigan has scored 31 goals this season, which ranks tied for third in the conference for goals scored, while giving up 19. Through 17 games, the Wolverines have held 10 of their opponents to one or fewer goals, including six shutouts. Junior/sophomore goalkeeper Sarah Jackson has started 15 of 17 games this season, allowing 15 goals and recording a goals against average of 0.97.
Four Wolverines have generated the majority of U-M's points this season, accounting for 69 of its 90 points. Reilly Martin leads Michigan with 21 points on seven goals and seven assists, more than doubling her point production from her freshman season. Nicky Waldeck (7G, 3A) and Ani Sarkisian (6G, 5A) are tied for second with 17 points each, and Abby Kastroll has 14 points on five goals and four assists. Martin's seven assists rank tied for second in the Big Ten, while she is tied for fifth in the conference with 21 points (1.24 ppg).

Scouting Wisconsin
Under the direction of 10th-year head coach Paula Wilkins, Wisconsin wrapped up the regular season with an overall record of 8-4-7, including a 5-2-4 mark in Big Ten play to finish fifth in the conference standings. The Badgers defeated Rutgers, 2-1, in their regular-season finale, as Rose Lavelle tallied two goals seven minutes apart to help Wisconsin overcome a 1-0 deficit. Overall, Lavelle (5G, 3A) and Micaela Powers (4G, 5A) are leading Wisconsin with 13 points each. Redshirt junior goalkeeper Caitlyn Clem has played every minute in goal for the Badgers, allowing 15 goals in 19 games, while the Badgers have scored 21 goals this season.
Series vs. Wisconsin: Wisconsin holds a slight edge in the all-time series with Michigan, 13-11-6. When the two teams met during the regular season, they played to a 1-1 draw in Ann Arbor on Oct. 13. Nicky Waldeck had the game-tying goal in the 42nd minute.
