
Wolverines Sign Pair to NLIs

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan ice hockey team has announced the signing of Josh Norris and Michael Pastujov to National Letters of Intent, and the pair is set to join the program for the 2017-18 season from the U.S. National Team Development Program.
The pair join a long list of USNTDP alums to play at Michigan, including senior Evan Allen, sophomores Nicholas Boka and Brendan Warren and freshmen Will Lockwood, Griffin Luce, Luke Martin, Nick Pastujov, and James Sanchez.
Josh Norris (Oxford, Michigan) // Forward
A 6'1'', 192-pound forward ... Currently playing with the United States National Team Development Program (USNTDP) Under-18 team ... Through 17 games, fourth on the team in scoring, notching 11 points (six goals, five assists) ... Named a "B" skater on the NHL Central Scouting Preliminary 2016 Players To Watch list ... Competed in the 2016 CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game ... Recorded 39 points (18 goals, 21 assists) in 73 games with the USNTDP U-17 team in 2015-16.
"He's a good sized forward that skates well," says Coach Red Berenson. "Josh is a two-way forward that we are excited to have join us."
Michael Pastujov (Bradenton, Florida) // Forward
A 6', 192-pound forward ... Also a member of the United States National Team Development Program (USNTDP) Under-18 team ... Tallied five points (three goals, two assists) over 17 games this season ... The NHL Central Scouting Preliminary 2016 Players To Watch list named Pastujov a "B" skater ... Competed in the 2016 CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game ... In 2015-16 with the USNTDP U-17 team recorded 17 points (11 goals, five assists) over 25 games ... Younger brother of freshman Nick Pastujov.
"Michael is a skilled two-way player," says Coach Berenson. "I think he has a chance to be a great player in NCAA DI hockey."
Fans will have the chance to see the newest members of the Michigan hockey family this Friday (Nov. 18) as U-M hosts the U.S. NTDP U-18 team in an exhibition contest. Puck drop is slated for 7:30 p.m. at Yost Ice Arena. Limited tickets are still available for $5. [ Tickets ]
