The University of Michigan men's basketball team (18-7, 8-4 B1G) will look to continue its winning ways as the Wolverines host 18/16 Purdue (20-5, 8-4 B1G) this Saturday (Feb. 13) at Crisler Center. The game is not only the celebration of the 100th anniversary of U-M basketball but will be an opportunity to assist the Chad Tough Foundation as the Wolverines will wear special T-shirts. Today's game will tipoff at 2 p.m. and be broadcast on ESPN2.
THE COACHING MATCHUP
Michigan: John Beilein (184-117 in ninth season at U-M | 735-345 in 38th season)
Purdue: Matt Painter (232-130; 11th season at Purdue | 257-135 in 12th season)
A LITTLE ABOUT PURDUE
Purdue travels to Ann Arbor with a 20-5 overall record and an 8-4 mark in B1G play.
Four of Purdue's five losses have come on the road -- vs. Butler (L, 74-68; Dec. 19) in Indianapolis, at Illinois (L, 84-70; Jan. 10), at Iowa (L, 83-71; Jan. 24) and at Maryland (L, 72-61; Feb. 6). The Boilermakers only other loss was a 70-63 setback against Iowa at Mackey (Jan. 2).
Purdue averages 78.4 point per game, outscoring its opponents by +14.7. The Boilermakers are shooting 46.1 percent from the field and averaging 42.5 rebounds per game.
Purdue has more blocks (130) than steals (120) this season.
The Boilermakers are led by 7-foot bookends -- senior A.J. Hammons (14.7 ppg, 8.2 rpg, 2.8 bpg) and sophomore Isaac Haas (10.0 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 1.0 bpg). Hammons leads the team is field goal percentage (59.2%), while Hass has taken a team-best 102 trips to the free throw line -- nearly 25 more than the next Boilermaker Hammons (79).
Freshman Caleb Swanigan gives Purdue another power down low as he is averaging a near double-double with 9.8 points and a team-best 8.8 rebounds per game.
THE SERIES WITH PURDUE
Michigan is 66-86 in the all-time series with Purdue but holds a 5-5 record over the last 10.
After three straight games played at Mackey Arena, the series returns to Crisler Center since a 75-66 Wolverine victory on Jan. 30, 2014. U-M has 40-33 record in Ann Arbor.
With a 25-point night from Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman, U-M went back and forth at Purdue (Jan. 7) trailing by six with 5:20 remaining, before the Boilermakers caught fire and closed the game on a 21-10 run to win 87-70. Derrick Walton Jr. had 12 points, while Duncan Robinson had 10 in the U-M setback.

For today's game, U-M coach John Beilein, his staff, the Wolverine players and Maize Rage will wear special #ChadTough T-shirts to help raise awareness for the Chad Tough Foundation.
The special T-shirt day is a tie-in with Coach Beilein's campaign to raise money for the foundation as part of the ESPN Infiniti Coaches Charity Challenge. To date, Beilein continues to lead the fan voted campaign which could yield up to $100,000 for the Chad Tough Foundation.
Chad Carr was the son of Jason and Tammi Carr and the grandson of former U-M head football coach Lloyd Carr. He was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) -- an inoperable brain tumor on the brain stem -- in September of 2014 before succumbing to the disease on Nov. 23, 2015.

THE WEEK THAT IS
Michigan snapped a two-game losing streak with a scrappy 82-74 win at Minnesota. The victory was the ninth straight over the Gophers and sixth straight at Williams Arena.
Michigan finished shooting 53.8 percent from the field and with 14 three-pointers shot 56 percent from long range. Derrick Walton Jr. led U-M with five triples -- all in the first half.
Michigan led by as much as 19 points in the second half, however, Minnesota did not give up, using a 19-4 spurt to cut the lead to just two with 1:37 remaining. With team defense, inside scoring and free throws going 6-for-7 down the stretch, the Wolverines held on for the win.
Walton led U-M with a career-best 26 points, as he scored 19 points in the first half thanks to five three-pointers. He added eight rebounds, seven assists and two steals in 37 minutes. Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman added 16 points as he tied a career-best with three triples of his own. Duncan Robinson had 14 of his own as he made four treys. He nearly had his first U-M double-double as he closed with nine rebounds.

Derrick Walton Jr. leads U-M with four double-doubles -- all of which have come via points and rebounds. In fact, he recorded the program's fifth triple-double with 10 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists against Youngstown State (Dec. 19). Walton leads U-M with 5.7 rebounds and bettered that average in B1G play at 6.5 per game.
Walton has 125 total rebounds with 115 coming on the defensive end.
Duncan Robinson is seventh (7th) nationally, shooting 48.1 percent from long range. With 77 total on the season, he needs 23 more three-pointers to become just the second Wolverine ever to reach 100 in a single season.
Zak Irvin has 80 total assists in 24 games this season -- 3.3 per game. He had a total of just 62 total assists in his first two seasons (69 games).
Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman has scored all six of his double-figure scoring games this season as a starter. He scored a career-best 25 points at Purdue (Jan. 7). This season, as a starter, he averages 10.3 points (144); as a non-starter, he is at a 2.4 per game (27). In fact, all 10 of his career double-digit games have come with a starting nod attached to it. Abdur-Rahkman has 27 starts in 54 career games.
WHAT'S AHEAD?
Next week, Michigan heads to Columbus, Ohio, to play in its third ESPN "Super Tuesday" game at Ohio State (Feb. 16) in Value City Arena. Tipoff against the Buckeyes is scheduled for 7 p.m.
U-M's week closes with a trip to College Park, Maryland, on Sunday (Feb. 21) for a second regular-season meeting against 2/2 Maryland at the Xfinity Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. on CBS.
