Big Ten Network Announces Baseball, Softball TV Schedule

CHICAGO, Ill. -- The Big Ten Conference and Big Ten Network announced Thursday (March 3) the BTN's baseball and softball broadcast and internet stream schedules for this spring, and the University of Michigan will be featured at least 34 times during the regular season, with 19 total baseball contests and 15 softball game as well as the possibility for additional selections.
The BTN baseball schedule features five Wolverine games during the 2016 campaign, beginning with a home contest against Nebraska (April 15). Home games against Michigan State (April 29) and Rutgers (May 7) and road slates at Ohio State (May 15) and reigning Big Ten regular-season champion Illinois (May 21) round out the Wolverines' BTN appearances.
BTN Plus will also stream four home Michigan baseball contests against Minnesota (April 9-10), Michigan State (May 1) and county rival Eastern Michigan (May 3). Road BTN Plus matchups include Northwestern (April 1-3), Iowa (April 22-24), Michigan State (April 30) and Ohio State (May 13-14).
BTN will televise every game from the Big Ten Tournament, which is to be played at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Nebraska, from May 25-29. The park is also home to the College World Series.
The four BTN softball broadcasts include two games at Nebraska (April 7-8) and home dates against Ohio State (April 17) and Maryland (April 22). All 11 games of the 2016 Big Ten Tournament, slated for May 13-14 at in State College, Pennsylvania, will air on the Big Ten Network.
Seven additional Michigan home games will appear on the live BTN Plus stream, beginning with the Wolverines' Big Ten opener against Northwestern (March 25). Conference road matchups against Indiana (April 1-3), Michigan State (April 13) and Michigan State (April 15) will also be covered. For information on subscribing to BTN Plus, visit BTN2Go.com.
Highlights and coverage of Big Ten baseball and softball will be featured on This Week in the Big Ten, which airs Sunday nights beginning on April 3. Hosts Rick Pizzo, Mike Hall and various analysts will discuss Big Ten matchups and breakout performances from the weekend's games. The Diamond Report will return with airings during the baseball and softball tournaments.
