ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 22-ranked University of Michigan men's tennis team won the doubles point and got three quick singles wins to remain undefeated at home in a 4-0 win over Iowa on Friday evening (April 22) at the Varsity Tennis Center.
Juniors Jathan Malik and Kevin Wong were the first off court in doubles, using a break at 3-1 to grab a 6-3 victory.
Junior/sophomore Alex Knight and sophomore Runhao Hua provided the clinching match, breaking in the match's final game for a 7-5 win as U-M took the early 1-0 lead.
Michigan started strong in singles play, winning all six first sets.
Junior/sophomore Davis Crocker gave Michigan its second point of the day, winning 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5.
Sophomore Carter Lin grabbed the third Wolverine point with a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 2.
It was a race to finish from there, as both Hua and Wong each needed one game to clinch their respective matches.
Hua was the first one finished as he rallied from 40-15 in the final game, coming through on a deuce point to break Robin Haden for the win.
Michigan will close out the regular season at home on Sunday (April 24), hosting Nebraska at 10 a.m. Admission is free.
