
Postgame Notes: #17 Michigan 27, Indiana 20 (OT)

• Today's game marked the 66th all-time meeting between Michigan and Indiana. U-M leads the all-time series, 57-9, including an 18-1 mark at Memorial Stadium with 10 wins in a row at the venue.
• Michigan has won 22 straight games against Indiana and 37 of the last 38 contests overall. It was the first time the Wolverines ruined the Hoosiers' homecoming date since the 1997 season.
• With today's win Michigan became the first program in Big Ten Conference history to reach the 500-win plateau in league play. The program is 500-203-18 all-time during its 110th season of Big Ten football.
• The Wolverines improved to 15-5 in the Big Ten under third-year head coach Jim Harbaugh. Overall, U-M is 25-7 under Harbaugh.
• Today marks Michigan's first overtime win since it beat Indiana in double overtime at this same venue in 2015 behind six touchdown passes from Jake Rudock.
• The Maize and Blue offense converted 3-of-3 red zone possessions into points during the game (two field goals, one touchdown).
• Michigan's offense found its pace on the ground, accumulating 271 yards rushing as part of a 329-yard afternoon.
• Running back Ty Isaac, who entered the game with 987 yards on the ground as a Wolverine, eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark on a 13-yard carry during the second quarter.
• Running back Karan Higdon finished with a career highs of 25 carries, 200 yards and three touchdowns, including a career-long 59-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter and a 25-yard scamper on the first play from scrimmage in overtime. It was his second consecutive game leading the rushing attack for U-M and his third game with more than 60 yards rushing so far this year.
• With another two catches today, tight end Zach Gentry now has multiple receptions in three of six contests so far this season.
• Indiana scored its first points of the game, a field goal, with 1:46 remaining in the second quarter.
• The Indiana offense was held to 5-of-17 on third down (29.4 percent).
• Indiana became the sixth U-M opponent this season to record its season low for yards (278) against the Michigan defense. Prior to today's game, IU's season low was 308 yards of total offense (at Virginia, Sept. 9).
• After throwing for 321 yards in his first career start, IU redshirt freshman quarterback Peyton Ramsey was held to 20-of-41 passing for 178 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.
• Lavert Hill recorded his second interception of the season in the fourth quarter.
• Michigan was penalized 11 times in the first half alone. The last time U-M had double-digit penalties against it was at Penn State (Nov. 21, 2015), when it finished with 10 for the game.
• Kicker Quinn Nordin converted on field goal tries at 40 and 38 yards. Nordin is 14-of-16 (87.5 percent) on the season with a long of 55 yards.
