ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan women's soccer head coach Greg Ryan announced the Wolverines' 2017 spring schedule today (Tuesday, March 14), which will feature four home games and one road match.
The four home games will be played at Al Glick Field House or U-M Soccer Stadium depending on weather conditions. All home spring matches are open to the public and free of charge.
The Wolverines will play home games against in-state opponents on four consecutive Sundays, starting on March 19, when U-M hosts Detroit at 4 p.m. U-M will then host Central Michigan (March 26) and Western Michigan (April 2) with both games taking place at 4 p.m. Michigan will wrap up its home slate against Michigan State on April 9 at 2 p.m.
U-M's lone road match will take the Wolverines to Columbus, Ohio, to face the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday, April 15, at 6 p.m.
After losing seven seniors, who will graduate this spring, Michigan's spring roster features 21 players from its 2016 team. Three players who missed the 2016 season will return to compete this spring, including Taylor Timko and Kelly Sweeney, who missed the season due to injury, and Sura Yekka, who took the semester off to compete with the Canadian U-20 Women's National Team at the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
