
Haughey, Alum Lau to Swim for Hong Kong at World Championships

BUDAPEST, Hungary -- Junior Siobhán Haughey and alumna Claudia Lau (2012-15) will represent Hong Kong and the University of Michigan women's swimming and diving program at the 2017 FINA World Championships, beginning Sunday (July 23) at Danube Arena. The Championships will run for eight days and conclude on July 30.
Joining the two women's swimmers in Budapest are men's swimmers Mokhtar Al-Yamani (Yemen), Felix Auböck (Austria), Ricardo Vargas (Mexico) and alums Richard Funk (Canada) and Anders Lie Nielsen (Denmark). Additionally, head coach Mike Bottom will coach Al-Yamani for Yemen, while assistant coach Sam Wensman will coach Auböck for Austria.
Preliminaries begin at 9:30 a.m. (3:30 a.m. ET), with finals following at 5:30 p.m. (11:30 a.m. ET).
