ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan ice hockey team's late comeback was unsuccessful, as it fell to No. 2 Notre Dame, 2-1, on Friday evening (Jan. 5). Tony Calderone was the lone Wolverine to score in the matchup. Former head coach Red Berenson was honored prior to the game when Red Berenson RInk at Yost Ice Arena was officially dedicated.
In the inaugural Big Ten matchup between Michigan and Notre Dame, the Fighting Irish struck first scoring at the 4:44 mark. Matt Hellickson scored the power-play goal with assists being awarded to Cam Morrison and Cal Burke.
