ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan David and Meredith Kaplan Men's Basketball Head Coach John Beilein announced Friday (June 29) the addition of transfer, and preferred walk-on, Jaron Faulds to the Wolverine roster. Faulds will sit out the 2018-19 season due to NCAA transfer rules.
Â
"We are pleased to announce the addition of Jaron to our roster for this upcoming season," said Beilein. "He has a lot of potential and brings collegiate experience to this young team. With a lot of hard work, he will play an important role in our team's development and future success in the years to come."
Â
A native of Holt, Michigan, Faulds played 26 games at Columbia University last season. Averaging 4.5 points per game, he posted two games in double figures with a career-best 17 points at Albany (Dec. 2) after going 8-for-10 from the field. With 3.2 rebounds per game, he recorded six games of five-or-more rebounds with a career-best seven boards at Boston College (Dec. 12). In his only start of the season at West Point (Nov. 21), he finished with six points and five rebounds in 18 minutes of action.
Â
A 2017 graduate of Holt High School, Faulds was a four-year member of the varsity team and led Rams to two district titles and the CAAC Blue league title in 2014. During his senior season he averaged 17.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and 4.0 blocks. He holds school career records with 261 blocks and 782 rebounds and set single-season rebounding mark with 278 in 2016-17.
