Saturday, June 30
The Michigan volleyball team continued its #MGoEurope journey on Saturday (June 30) with its last match of the foreign trip, an alpine sledding experience, and a trip to Lake Bled in Slovenia before returning to Venice, Italy, for Sunday's early flight home.
8 a.m. -- The team rises early for breakfast at the hotel before heading into the on-site facility for the Wolverines' last match of the trip -- a contest against the same opponent from Friday, ZOK Mladost of Croatia.
9:30 a.m. -- Warmups begin for the match, following the shortened European style. After about 30 full minutes of a shared-court warmup, the final match of the European tour begins.
Match against ZOK Mladost of Croatia -- The University of Michigan volleyball team swept its final match of the foreign tour on Saturday (June 30) with a 3-0 victory (25-17, 25-17, 25-18) over ZOK Mladost of Croatia. Michigan took an early lead in the first set and maintained it until the third set, when ZOK Mladost jumped ahead to get the set started. Despite the deficit, Michigan came from behind to take a lead at 15-14 on a kill from senior Carly Skjodt and surged ahead for a 25-18 third-set win. The Wolverines posted a .356 attack average in the victory and were led by Skjodt's 12 kills and libero Jenna Lerg's 17 digs. The victory improved the Wolverines' record to a perfect 4-0 on the tour.

Coach Rosen Quote from Match
11:45 a.m. -- Following the match, the team departs for the local ski lift to grab some lunch and do some alpine sledding. Michigan rides the ski lift up in pairs and has lunch on top of the mountain before heading to the alpine sleds. A short rain shower follows, but it passes and the team is able to sled down twice before it's time to hit the road. Roughly two hours later, the team makes the short walk back to the sport hotel.

2 p.m. -- The team loads the bus and departs for the city of Bled, Slovenia, for one last sightseeing opportunity. Following a visit to Bled Lake, the team will return to Venice, Italy, in preparation for tomorrow's flight home.
4:30 p.m. -- Michigan arrives at Lake Bled and the team immediately gets into nearby boats to make the journey to the famous island in the middle of the lake. No motors are allowed on the lake, so the boats must be rowed across to the island, which is home to a famous Slovenian church. Once the two boats make it to the island's shore, the team is able to explore for about 45 minutes before returning to the boats for the ride back.

6 p.m. -- The Wolverines return to the mainland and come across a local festival celebrating the end of the Slovenia school year and the beginning of summer. The team then heads back to the bus to make the long ride back to Venice, Italy, for the last evening of the foreign tour.
7:15 p.m. -- Michigan stops at a rest stop in Slovenia to grab dinner before making the final leg of the tip to Venice. Slovenian rest stops differ greatly from American rest stops -- this one had a restaurant! After one last European meal, the team loads back up on the bus.
10 p.m. -- The team bus arrives at the hotel in Venice, Italy, which is near the airport that Michigan will depart from tomorrow on its flight home. It will be an early morning with a lot of flight time, so it's important that the team gets a good night's sleep before returning to Detroit.
