• Michigan improved to 2-0 in the all-time series against Southern Methodist. The programs' first meeting came in 1963 at Michigan Stadium.
• U-M has compiled a 25-5-1 record against teams from the American Athletic Conference (AAC) and a 3-0 mark under Jim Harbaugh with previous wins over UCF in 2016 and Cincinnati in 2017.
• Today's announced attendance of 110,549 marks the 281st consecutive game at Michigan Stadium with a crowd in excess of 100,000.
• Sophomore wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones posted his first multi-touchdown game with TD catches of 35, seven and 41 yards in the second and third quarters. It marks the most touchdowns scored by a Wolverine wide receiver since Jehu Chesson scored four against Indiana in 2015. Peoples-Jones' 41-yard catch is the second-longest reception of his career and the longest for a touchdown.
• Junior quarterback Shea Patterson completed 14-of-18 attempts for a season-best 237 passing yards and three touchdowns. He has posted three touchdown passes in each of the last two games.
• Senior tight end Zach Gentry recorded career highs with 95 receiving yards and four catches. His previous bests were 63 yards on three receptions last season against Maryland. His 32-yard reception in the first quarter is the fourth-longest of his career.
• Sophomore fullback Ben Mason scored his first touchdown of the season -- and third of his career -- on a one-yard rush in the second quarter.
• Junior running back Tru Wilson scored his first career touchdown on a nine-yard rush late in the fourth quarter. Wilson posted a career-best 11 carries for 53 yards, missing his career-best rushing yardage by one. He tallied 54 yards on six carries last Saturday vs. Western Michigan.
• Junior safety Josh Metellus registered his first career interception and returned it 73 yards for his first career touchdown at the end of the second quarter. It was the first pick-six by a Wolverine player since Tyree Kinnel and Lavert Hill both returned interceptions for touchdowns -- for 28 yards and 24 yards, respectively -- last season against Cincinnati (Sept. 9, 2017).
• It is also the sixth-longest interception return for a touchdown in U-M history and the longest since Brandon Herron's school-record 94-yard return against Western Michigan on Sept. 3, 2011.
• Junior defensive lineman Carlo Kemp and fifth-year senior defensive lineman Bryan Mone recorded their first collegiate sacks -- for six-yard and seven-yard losses, respectively -- on the same SMU drive late in the second quarter.
• Southern Methodist running back Braeden West had touchdowns of 50-plus yards in both of the Mustangs' first two contests (one receiving, one rushing), one of four FBS players to score touchdowns at that length this season. Michigan's defense held West to a 14-yard long on eight carries.
• Today's game was U-M's annual Military Appreciation Game. Prior to and during the game, the Michigan Athletic Department and Wolverine fans recognized and honored the men and women of our military who have bravely served or are serving our country.
