• Saturday's game marked the 10th all-time meeting between Michigan and Nebraska and the first since 2013. It was the first time the teams opened Big Ten play against one another. Michigan's 56 points are the Wolverines' highest point total against the Cornhuskers.
• The 56 points are the fifth most in Michigan's history of Big Ten openers and the most since a 58-0 victory over Minnesota on Oct. 1, 2011.
• The Wolverines are 4-0 in Big Ten openers under head coach Jim Harbaugh and have won 12 of the last 13 and 35 of the last 37 overall to start conference play.
• Today's announced attendance of 111,037 marks the 283rd consecutive game at Michigan Stadium with a crowd in excess of 100,000.
• In the 17 possessions that spanned the second half against SMU and first half against Nebraska, Michigan scored 15 times with 12 touchdowns.
• Michigan tallied over 200 yards rushing (285) and passing (206) for the first time since the 2017 season opener against Florida when the Wolverines had 215 rushing and 218 receiving.
• Senior Karan Higdon recorded his 20th career touchdown on a 44-yard run in the first quarter. Higdon notched his seventh career 100-yard rushing game, finishing with 136 yards and one touchdown on 12 carries.
• Sophomore Ben Mason tallied his first career multi-touchdown game as he scored three times against Nebraska. He doubled his career touchdown total and now has six. The last U-M player with three rushing touchdowns in a game was Karan Higdon at Indiana in 2017. Mason finished with a career-high six carries and 18 yards, including a career-long rush of six yards on the opening drive.
• Junior running back Tru Wilson had a career-high rush of 26 yards at the end of the first quarter.
• Senior tight end Zach Gentry extended his reception streak to eight games. Gentry hauled in his first touchdown reception of the season and third of his career.

• Three quarterbacks saw game action: junior Shea Patterson, sophomore Dylan McCaffrey and junior Brandon Peters.
• The Wolverines held Nebraska scoreless in the first half, marking the second time this season an opponent (Western Michigan) failed to score in the first half against Michigan. U-M has held opponents scoreless in eight of 16 quarters this season.
• The last time the Michigan defense held an opponent to negative rushing yards in a quarter was against Ohio State (Nov. 25, 2017) with a total of -12 yards in the first quarter. The Wolverines held Nebraska to -5 yards in the first quarter and -1 yard in the second quarter.
• Michigan's defense tallied four sacks in the game, three of which came on third down to end drives.
• Senior Jordan Glasgow earned his first career start on defense. On Nebraska's second series of the game he tallied his first career sack for a loss of 14 yards on third down.
