
Postgame Notes: #14 Michigan 20, Northwestern 17

• Saturday's game marked the 75th all-time meeting between Michigan and Northwestern. U-M extended its winning streak in the series to six straight games and is now 58-15-2 all-time in the series.
• The last time Michigan was down 17 points and came back to win was a 35-31 win over Notre Dame at Michigan Stadium (Sept. 10, 2011).
• Saturday's victory marked the largest comeback under head coach Jim Harbaugh (17 points).
• Northwestern had 105 yards in the first quarter, and the U-M defense held the Wildcats to 97 yards in the final three quarters.
• The U-M offense totaled 376 yards (180 rushing, 196 passing).
• Despite a balanced attack, Michigan relied on its run game with six ballcarriers totaling 180 yards on the ground (4.3 yards per carry).
• Running back Karan Higdon racked up 138 yards on a career-high 30 carries with two scores.
• Wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones' 25-yard rush on a reverse in the second quarter was the second-longest run of his career (44 yards vs. Cincinnati, 2017).
• Wide receiver Nico Collins registered a 36-yard reception in the third quarter, giving him at least one catch of 20 yards or more in four of five contests this year.
• Tight end Zach Gentry entered the game with an eight-game reception streak, which he extended to nine games with his third-quarter catch for a first down. All three of Gentry's second-half receptions moved the chains.
• Michigan's defense held the Wildcats to 202 total yards and just 28 yards rushing.
• U-M's defense had another game with highs in sack (six) and tackle-for-loss totals (10) as a unit. Third-down sacks ended both of Northwestern's first two possessions in the second half.
• Defensive lineman Chase Winovich recorded nine tackles, three tackles for loss, including 2.0 in the first half, and a sack. Winovich has at least half a tackle for loss in 13 consecutive games.
• Defensive end Kwity Paye and linebacker Josh Uche each had a pair of sacks.
• Jordan Glasgow's six tackles were a career-high.
• The U-M offense has scored points in 14 of the last 16 quarters and 16 of 20 overall on the season.
