
Postgame Notes: #7 Penn State 28, #16 Michigan 21

• After tonight's loss, Michigan leads the series, 14-9, in 23 meetings with Penn State and a 7-6 mark in Beaver Stadium.
• Michigan is the first team to score more than 13 points on Penn State this season. PSU had been the first team since 2013 Louisville to hold each of its first six opponents to 13 points or fewer.
• U-M had three touchdown drives of 65 yards or longer: one on eight plays for 75 yards in 4:27; one on eight plays for 65 yards in 3:10; and one on nine plays for 75 yards in 4:26.
• With his rushing touchdown at 2:55 left in the first quarter, running back Zach Charbonnet scored the sixth touchdown of his freshman season, and he added another with 1:05 left in the third quarter. Only Mike Hart (nine) and Tyrone Wheatley (nine) had more in their rookie campaigns.
• Quarterback Shea Patterson has connected with at least five pass-catchers in every game this season, including seven tonight.
• Wide receiver Ronnie Bell had five catches for 82 yards with a long of 35. He has at least one reception of 20-plus yards in five of seven games this year and has recorded 80 yards receiving or more in five contests.
• Wide receiver Nico Collins led Michigan with six receptions and 89 yards receiving. His 30-yard reception gives him at least one catch of 20-plus yards in five of six games this year, including four games with a long reception of 30-plus yards.
• Defensive lineman Kwity Paye reached a career high in tackles with 10.
• Senior left guard Ben Bredeson made his 40th career start in the Penn State game, with all of those starting assignments coming at left guard. He has started 20 consecutive games over the past two seasons.
• Entering the game, PSU was allowing 8.2 points (ranked second in FBS), 259.7 yards per game (fourth) and 1.59 yards per carry (first). Michigan scored 21 points, totaled 417 yards of offense and finished with 3.4 yards per carry.
• The Nittany Lion defense averaged 4.5 sacks per game but managed only one against Michigan.
• Penn State holds a 6-6 record in 12 "White Out" games, including a 3-1 record in four games against Michigan.
