» Michigan posted a 296 first-round team tally to position itself in a tie for 11th after the first day of the Landfall Tradition. U-M is tied with Penn State and North Carolina, which also tallied 296 team totals.
» Playing her opening nine holes at four under par, Ashley Kim closed with a 71 (-1) and is tied for ninth after 18 holes. After a striped drive, she watched her 50-degree wedge from 90 yards approach, hit the green and roll in for an eagle on the par-4 11th.
» Using seven birdies and Kim's eagle, U-M opened play three under par as a team on the back nine. Moving to the front side, the Wolverines recorded just three birdies and closed 17-over on the front side.
» With two birdies erasing her two bogeys, Ashley Lau opened with an even-par 72 and is tied for 15th.
» Michigan will play the second round Saturday (Oct. 26) with Indiana and Penn State off No. 10 starting at 10:09 a.m.
