
Michigan Earns NCAA Women's Soccer Bid, Will Host First Round

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The University of Michigan women's soccer team will make its 14th NCAA Tournament appearance and will host a first-round match Friday (Nov. 15) against Bowling Green, as announced Monday evening (Nov. 11) by the NCAA.
The Wolverines (15-5-1) and Falcons (14-5-3) will kick off at 7 p.m. at U-M Soccer Stadium.
U-M is in the 64-team NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2016, when its hosted the first round against Illinois State. The Wolverines own a 14-10-3 overall record in NCAA postseason play, including a 10-0-1 mark in Ann Arbor. This will be the seventh season that Michigan has hosted at least one NCAA match.
Michigan received an at-large bid to the tournament after posting three wins over nationally ranked opponents and making its first trip to the Big Ten Tournament final since 2005. U-M tied for second in the Big Ten standings at 8-2-1.
The Michigan-Bowling Green winner will advance to the second round to face the winner of No. 4 regional seed Texas Tech and Pepperdine.
The Wolverines are joined by four other Big Ten schools in the field of 64: Big Ten champion Wisconsin, Big Ten Tournament winner Penn State, Rutgers and Iowa.
Tickets will go on sale Tuesday (Nov. 12) at 8:30 a.m. and can be purchased online at MGoBlue.com/tickets. Tickets are $8 for reserved seating, $6 for general admission and $3 for students with a valid student ID. Groups of 10 or more can purchase tickets for $3 per person.
